MODI is better than you might expect, but everyone’s opinion on how well it works will vary with the use they put it to. As it is ‘free’ give it a try. There are other OCR tools out there, and in a lot of cases you get what you pay for – none of them will be error-free on actual OCR. One of the key features I look for when testing an OCR tool is how it handles text location.
