Your employees won’t have their work otherwise interrupted while switching between personal and enterprise apps while the enterprise policies are in place. We recommend using the latest version for improved performance and reliability. Also, if you deploy a Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session VM and then update the product key to another edition, you won’t be able to switch the VM back to Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session and will need to redeploy the VM. Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support. I’ve recently added a couple of MS E3 licences to my Office tenant and associated one of those to my account. The E3 licence should give me access to W10 Enterprise but I can’t see the option to download the setup files or an ISO, where should I be looking? Brand Representative for Microsoft. O E3 does not include Windows As dbeato’s link shows, that’s a different license. That’s exactly as it should be, O E3 does not include Windows. They used to have a product called Intune that was Windows Unfortunately there isn’t a group for MS offerings, the Office group seemed to be the closest match hence I posted here.

Going from the link within debeato’s post it appears as if you need to install Windows 10 Pro and then join it to an Azure AD account then it will enable the Enterprise features which I’ve verified using my laptop for testing.

TIL I didn’t know they had names this thing E3. That’s confusingly close to O E3. Thanks MS! Take a look Chris Microsoft :. Thank you Chris, the linked document answers my question.

Microsoft has reimagined each part of the process, to simplify the lives of IT pros and maintain a consistent Windows 10 experience for its customers. These improvements focus on maximizing customer involvement in Windows development, simplifying the deployment and servicing of Windows client computers, and leveling out the resources needed to deploy and maintain Windows over time.

For more information, see Overview of Windows as a service. Traditional Windows servicing has included several release types: major revisions for example, Windows 8. With Windows 10, there are two release types: feature updates that add new functionality two to three times per year, and quality updates that provide security and reliability fixes at least once a month.

To align with the new method of delivering feature updates and quality updates in Windows 10, Microsoft introduced the concept of servicing channels to allow customers to designate how aggressively their individual devices are updated. For example, an organization may have test devices that the IT department can update with new features as soon as possible, and then specialized devices that require a longer feature update cycle to ensure continuity.

For details about the versions in each servicing channel, see Windows 10 release information. For more information on each channel, see servicing channels.

For more information, see Servicing Tools. For an overview of the new enterprise features in Windows 10 Enterprise, see What’s new in Windows 10 and What’s new in Windows 10, version in the Docs library.

To sign catalog files or code integrity policies internally, you’ll either need a publicly issued code signing certificate that you purchase or an internal certificate authority CA.

If you choose to use an internal CA, you’ll need to create a code signing certificate. Create code integrity policies from “golden” computers. When you have identified departments or roles that use distinctive or partly distinctive sets of hardware and software, you can set up “golden” computers containing that software and hardware. In this respect, creating and managing code integrity policies to align with the needs of roles or departments can be similar to managing corporate images.

From each “golden” computer, you can create a code integrity policy and decide how to manage that policy. You can merge code integrity policies to create a broader policy or a master policy, or you can manage and deploy each policy individually.

Audit the code integrity policy and capture information about applications that are outside the policy. We recommend that you use “audit mode” to carefully test each code integrity policy before you enforce it. With audit mode, no application is blocked—the policy just logs an event whenever an application outside the policy is started. Later, you can expand the policy to allow these applications, as needed.

Create a “catalog file” for unsigned line-of-business LOB applications. In later steps, you can merge the catalog file’s signature into your code integrity policy so that applications in the catalog will be allowed by the policy. Capture needed policy information from the event log, and merge information into the existing policy as needed. After a code integrity policy has been running for a time in audit mode, the event log will contain information about applications that are outside the policy.

To expand the policy so that it allows for these applications, use Windows PowerShell commands to capture the needed policy information from the event log, and then merge that information into the existing policy. You can merge code integrity policies from other sources also, for flexibility in how you create your final code integrity policies.

Deploy code integrity policies and catalog files. After you confirm that you’ve completed all the preceding steps, you can begin deploying catalog files and taking code integrity policies out of audit mode. We strongly recommend that you begin this process with a test group of users.

This provides a final quality-control validation before you deploy the catalog files and code integrity policies more broadly. Enable desired hardware security features. Hardware-based security features—also called virtualization-based security VBS features—strengthen the protections offered by code integrity policies.

You can create AppLocker rules by using Group Policy, and then target those rules to the appropriate devices. The primary App-V components that you must have are as follows:. Windows 11 , however, users will notice:.

Before planning a migration, IT administrators will have to verify that devices meet the minimum hardware requirements and choose among the different editions of the operating system. But what about the key differences between Windows 11 Pro and Windows 11 Enterprise — two popular business-oriented editions?

Here are a few things to consider when comparing Windows Pro vs. Enterprise :. The main difference among Windows editions is the number of features that come with the platform. Some editions have extra features targeting specific use cases.
