That has nothing to do with activation keys, nor does it stop any machine from working. You will be using a key from another VL , in this case but the license is still valid because the license is coming from MS does not validate the licensing in any way.

So, use the install from VLSC from a subscription that’s ended. Use that key from the subscription that’s ended. They won’t say ‘But that’s from an expired subscription? But if you do need to call, no worries about them checking a subscription. You are calling to activate an install, based on a key. Those are valid. Your license is expired, not the key.
